Harmonised leads and riffs have always been an integral part of hard rock/ metal music since the 70s.

From Black Sabbath to Killswitch Engage, from The Eagles (????) to The Darkness, from Kiss to Cradle of Filth, most, if not all, metal guitarists have used harmonisation in their writing either sporadically or extensively.
